The right support at the right time changed the course of my life. Inspired to do the same, I’ve shaped my life around helping others and making a greater impact. 

Standing in front of thousands, delivering a speech before Governor Jeb Bush spoke, felt almost unreal given where I had come from. Just a couple of years earlier, school had been the last thing on my mind. My GPA was 0.75. My home life was tough. My parents lost their furniture business to a fire, and we lost everything, making it feel nearly impossible to recover. 

Thankfully, I had incredible siblings who looked out for me, and when I was 16, my aunt and uncle had me move to Florida. That second chance set me on a new path, taking me from nearly failing out of school to graduating with honors and speaking at that event. It was proof that with the right support, a situation can completely turn around. 

From there, I went to the University of Alabama. While I may have betrayed my Louisiana roots, I joined a purple and gold fraternity to make up for it. After college, I built a career in sales, working in everything from importing Oriental rugs to selling cars and managing large dealership teams. These roles took me across the country until my wife and I landed in Tennessee in 2015. 

I was running a large dealership, managing 40 sales reps, and putting in 70 to 80 hours a week. The job was demanding, but I was making good money, so I kept pushing forward. Then my wife got into real estate, working half the hours I was, and after a couple of months, we compared our income and realized her earnings were catching up to mine. That was the wake-up call. A few days later, I resigned—no second-guessing, no backup plan. 

Growing up, my mom loved looking at houses we could never afford, and as a kid, I’d ride around with her, dreaming about what could be. When I became a REALTOR®, I knew the statistics—renters have a fraction of the net worth that homeowners do. Owning a home is a step toward something bigger. I know firsthand how the right support can open doors to new opportunities, and that’s exactly what I set out to provide for my clients. 

That first year, I focused on learning the business and diving into new construction, where I worked closely with builders and sales teams to gain valuable experience. Over time, that foundation helped me expand into all areas of real estate, allowing my team to serve buyers and sellers at every stage—from first-time homeowners to seasoned investors. In 2023, I started my own brokerage and now have a fantastic team of agents to create great real estate experiences. 

Life is busy now, with three boys—Jax, Mason, and Liam—who keep us on our toes. They’re my biggest motivation. I want them to have the stability I didn’t, but I also want them to see that success comes from hard work, resilience, and, most importantly, helping others. Whether they follow me into real estate or carve out their own paths, I want them to know they can build the life they want, just like I did. I love coaching their sports teams, enjoying time together as a family, and when I get the chance, pretending to be good at golf. Real estate gave me the freedom to be present, and for that, I’m grateful every day. 

Looking back, I know I got here because of the people who stepped in when I needed them most. That’s why I believe in giving others the same chance. Whether it’s a family buying their first home or an agent trying to get their start, my philosophy remains the same: people come first. When you put people first, everything else falls into place. 

Owning a home isn’t just about having a place to live—it’s an investment that can open doors to opportunities you never expected. For me, it’s what made starting my own brokerage possible. After years of hard work in real estate, the equity I built in my home gave me the financial foundation to take that leap. It’s a lesson I share with my clients all the time: real estate isn’t just about where you live, it’s about building wealth and creating options for your future. 

 

That’s why I take my job seriously. I don’t just work with my clients—I work for them. From negotiating the best deal to researching market trends and handling every last detail, I put in the work to create a great experience for the clients I serve. My background in new construction has given me a deep understanding of the home-building process, from land development to final inspections, and that knowledge helps me guide buyers and sellers with confidence.
